Tambuwal Seeks Amendment Of Case Challenging Security Details Withdrawal

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, has sought the permission of a Federal High Court to properly present his case, challenging the withdrawal of his security details before the court.

His lawyers told reporters on Monday that in the face of developments since the matter began, it had become necessary to streamline their case before the court.

The speaker is challenging the withdrawal of his police orderlies and alleged plan by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remove him as speaker because of his defection from the PDP to the opposition All Progressives Congress.

Days after Mr Tambuwal’s defected, the Nigeria police boss withdrew his security details, saying that he had seized to be the speaker after he defected to the APC, a decision some lawmakers condemned.
