Secondary school student stabs father in the eye over yuletide clothes

Christmas Tragedy

For his inability to provide money for Christmas clothes, a father has had his eye stabbed by his son.
A security man who could not provide Christmas clothes for his 16-year-old son, has lost the use of one of his eyes after the boystabbed him in a fit of rage. The incident which happened at the family residence at Arowojobe Stree, Oshodi, is raising eyebrows and ending tongues wagging.
The middle aged man who name is given as Anthony, was reported to have pleaded with his son, Ikechi, that times are hard and could not afford to by new clothes for him as well as his two other siblings, arguing that since he is older, he should exercise patience while he gets them for the younger ones.
But this argument, according to one of Ikechi's cousins who witnessed the ugly debacle, Ukachukwu, did not hold water with the young man who insisted on getting new clothes as he wanted to use them for one of his friend's party at a beach in Lagos.
According to Ukachukwu, Anthony explained to Ikechi that he had little money on him as he had not been paid his salary yet. But the boy insisted on getting money for his clothes and locked up the father in the room, refusing to allow him leave for work, accusing his father of hating him.
The  father who works as a security guard in a hotel, got angry at his son's behaviour, got angry and reached for his belt and started flogging him. This incensed Ikechi who picked up a knife and stabbed his father in the eye.
This is how Ukachukwu narrated the incident:
"Ikechi accused his father of hating him and, fed up with his complaints, the man got his belt and began to flog the boy.
As his father continued flogging him, Ikechi reached for a knife and stabbed him straight in the eye. Upon seeing the horror of his deed, Ikechi took his heels.
When I wanted to run off to the police station to report the issue to the police, his mother begged me not to, as it will ‘involve more expenses.
"But I doubt if he will still see with that eye again."
Anthony, who was rushed to the hospital right away is under intensive care, while family members are praying for him to see properly with the eye again

World Bank Fast Tracks Ebola Aid As Sierra Leone Calls For Help

The World Bank said on Wednesday it would speed up delivery of hundreds of millions of dollars in assistance to fight Ebola in West Africa, as Sierra Leone appealed for help in plugging gaps in its response.

On a visit to Sierra Leone, where the epidemic is spreading fastest, World Bank, President Jim Yong Kim, said the lender would accelerate disbursement of $162 million in emergency support to ensure the moneyDescription: http://cdncache-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png was delivered in two years instead of three.
To help kick-start Sierra Leone’s economy, Kim said the bank would make available an additional $170 million over the next two years, mostly to strengthen infrastructure and agriculture.

“We’re accelerating our support to Sierra Leone,” Kim said in Freetown, during a tour of Ebola-affected countries in the region.
The worst known outbreak of the hemorrhagic fever on record has killed more than 6,070 people from 17,145 cases, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.
Despite Britain deploying hundreds of troops to its former colony, Sierra Leone is lagging behind Guinea and Liberia in its Ebola response, reporting 537 new cases in the week to November 30.

The WHO said uncertainty about data prevented firm conclusions about progress in eradicating the disease.
Sierra Leone President, Ernest Bai Koroma, said his country still had less than a third of the 1,500 beds it required and needed an additional four laboratories.
“While we do appreciate the increased presence, I must say that there is still the need for us to address the gaps that still exist in some areas of our intervention,” he said.

In a subsequent stop-off in Guinea, Kim said that a $153 million aid package to that country would also be delivered in two years, instead of the planned three.
Medical charity, Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF), said in a report this week that one of the shortcomings in the Ebola response is the failure to deploy trained medical personnel, resulting in high rates of infection among local staff.

In a move that could relieve staffing shortages, 250 medical volunteers from the African Union are prepared to be deployed on Thursday from Nigeria to the worst affected countries.

The World Bank on Tuesday revealed that the epidemic would cost more than $2 billion across the region, causing once-booming economies to slow down or shrink.

“Africa’s richest man who does good in addition to doing well,” says Bill Gates in his description of Aliko Dangote – Africa’s richest man. He was put on the list, not just for his wealth but because of how he searches for “ways to bridge the gap between private business and public health.”

And Okonjo-Iweala is described by Bono as the “Guardian of Nigeria’s Public Funds.”

SEE how Pastor stripped Female Members just to get husband

When some of these ladies were in their 20s, if you tell them to stop being arrogant and be humble for their own good, they wont listen. But from 35 years, they will do crazy things just to get married. Idiots!

Anyway, I blame the so called pastor who decided to compound the old ladies problem by his order that they should follow him to the beach and strip naked to get husband. See the full photo below...

The 'pastor' even went ahead to kiss their naked butt as a way of attracting husbands to them. Stupidity!
